Introducing New Designs

A couple of days ago I wrote a post about the new collection I designed. Well, today it's time to talk about two new designs! The first one is an illustration I made in my sketchbook. I decided to make an original drawing out of it and after that was finished and scanned, it was put aside for a time - sometimes it doesn't feel right yet to use something. But when I was working towards making my first collection of purses featuring my illustrations, I really wanted this illustration to be part of it. It just looks so pretty on the fabric! All the details, even the small stripes, are so well printed and clear. I couldn't be happier with the result and it fits so well between all the other designs.

This brings me to the second design. It features an illustration I already offer as print in my shop: the flowerpot filled with different types of flowers and leaves.

Brown Bear Purse

I'm not sure how long this has been on my mind to make, but a couple of weeks ago I finally edited the files and ordered the supplies to make prototypes for a new collection of own designed fabric pouches. When these arrived I literally got butterflies in my stomach (which shows how thrilled I was). I went straight to my sewing machine and put everything together. First up is my popular brown bear illustration. The finished result was shared on my Instagram two days ago and I'm totally overwhelmed by all the reactions! I really didn't expect this. Because of these reactions, I set up a preorder listing in my Etsy and Dawanda shop.

A ready to ship batch should be ready in 3-4 weeks, but if you're as excited as I am and you purchase the preorder listing, the pouch will ship out sooner.

Lines.

Ik weet niet hoe lang het ondertussen is geleden, maar na een periode van veel pech moest ik wachten tot mijn nieuwe camera hier was alvorens ik terug foto's kon beginnen nemen. Via mijn GSM hield ik op Instagram wel al voldoende updates. Een blog onderhouden ging daar natuurlijk niet mee. Ondertussen is mijn toestel hier en kan ik weer volop foto's nemen. Gelukkig heb ik niet stil gezeten en ben ik nog steeds druk in de weer. Stap voor stap zal ik tonen waarmee ik bezig ben. Ik kan nu al zeggen dat er veel illustratief werk op komst is! Hou je ogen maar al open!

I have no idea how long it has been since I posted something here, but we've had a time of a lot of bad luck. Therefor I had to wait for my new camera to arrive. I kept Instagram up to date with my phone, but I obviously can't blog properly with it. But my camera arrived finally and I can start taking photos again. In the last couple of weeks I've been busy and still am. I'll be showing you step by step. It'll be quite some illustrative things, so stay tuned!

Fabrics

Ik zeg het al heel erg lang dat ze op komst zijn, maar nu zijn ze er écht: mijn eerste eigen ontworpen stoffen! Een lichtbeige stof met blaadjes en bloemen en een mooie smaragdgroene stof met een compositie van bloemen en takjes. Ik ben zo trots op deze eerste reeks! Op Instagram had ik al wat laten zien, want ik heb als een gek zitten naaien! Hierdoor vind je al een eerste collectie producten in mijn winkeltje. Hopelijk zijn jullie even enthousiast als ik.

I've been saying it for such a very long time, but now they're really here: the first own designed fabrics! A light beige fabric with leaves and flowers and a gorgeous emerald green fabric with a composition of flowers and branches. I'm super proud! I've already shared some sneak peaks on Instagram. For those who follow me there know I've been sewing like crazy and therefor I managed to list a first line of products in my shop. I hope you're as excited as I am.

Fruit sunday.

Tegenwoordig zien mijn zondagen er hetzelfde uit. Zo maak ik een fruitsla klaar, snij ik stoffen en kruip ik samen met een tasje koffie achter mijn naaimachine. Het is een vaste routine geworden in mijn al zo erg variërend ritme tijdens de week. En eigenlijk vind ik het geweldig zo. Geniet nog van deze (zeer koude) zondag.

Lately, my Sundays have been looking the same. I make fruitsalad, cut fabrics and sit together with a cup of coffee behind my sewing machine. It has become a routine in my ever changing ritme during the week. And actually, I really love it this way. I hope you enjoy this (very cold) Sunday.

Fruit sunday.

Het is weer een eeuwigheid geleden dat ik nog eens een deftige fruitsla gegeten heb, ik heb het zeker en vast gemist. Fruit smaakt natuurlijk veel beter tijdens de lente en zomer, maar op een zondag als deze kan het ook deugd doen. Na de gezonde hap terug aan het werk, want morgen is er opnieuw een shop update. Nog een fijne zondag toegewenst.

It's been ages since I've had a proper fruitsalad, I've certainly missed it. Fruit just tastes better during spring and summer, but on a Sunday like that it can be such a joy to eat it. After this healthy bite back to work, as I've planned a shop update tomorrow. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Shop update.

Het eerste deel van mijn geplande shop update is gebeurd, ga maar vlug een kijkje nemen! Een deel van the LEAF collection is toegevoegd. Omdat ik de vorige keer met Kasper in mijn post getoond heb, is het nu tijd om Ilan zijn plaatsje te gunnen. En wat een enthousiasme. Normaal gezien haat hij het om op de foto te staan. Ik wens je een fijn weekend toe!

Because I gave Kasper a small spot in my previous post, I decided it was time to give Ilan a spot in this one. And he seemed very enthousiastic. He normally hates to be photographed. In between.

Wanneer ik tijd heb, kruip ik achter mijn naaimachine. Ik hou echt van die momenten. Dit is nog maar een klein deeltje van wat ik tot nu toe al heb afgewerkt. De rest toon ik later, veel uitgebreider. Alles wat ik de komende dagen nog maak vind je, samen met de al bestaande producten, vanaf volgende week in de Lolly Pop-up Store. Ik heb er zoveel zin in!

Whenever I find the time, I get behind my sewing machine. I just love these moments. This is only a small part of what I've been finishing. The rest will be shown later, with a lot more photos. Everything I'll be making, along with everything that has been finished already, will go to the Lolly Pop-up Store, which is starting next week. I'm so excited!

Sewing and stitching.

Mijn weekend was gevuld met veel borduur- en naaiwerk. De laatste paar dagen heb ik bijna non-stop achter mijn naaimachine en tussen mijn stoffen doorgebracht, maar dit is nog steeds hetgeen ik heel graag doe.

My weekend was filled with a lot of embroidering and sewing. The last few days I've been spending almost non-stop behind my sewing machine and between my fabrics. I enjoy these moments so much.

Preparations.

Vandaag en morgen tref ik nog de laatste voorbereiding voor mijn deelname aan de BeParkte Oplage. Het zou deze zondag goed weer worden, dus ik zie het volledig zitten. Geniet nog van het komende weekend en misschien tot in Park Spoor Noord?
